If I Knew Then What I Know Now

It’s funny how as I get older I find myself saying if I knew then what I know now I would do things differently.  Do any of you remember the old commercial “Pay me now or Pay me later”?

As I go around the state and talk to business leaders and owners, they talk about the economic downturn in various markets. I find myself asking the same question over and over again and getting virtually the same answer. I ask, "How diversified is your customer base as it relates to geographical positioning?"

The answer usually entails that business was good and we didn’t need to get into that and now business is down and we don’t have time to get into that. Like the commercial, small businesses have to work smarter and sometimes harder due to limited resources, but both still have to work, and both need to diversify their customer base from a geographical perspective.

I hear you asking, "When do we have time to do that?" Well, there’s no time like the present.

MAMTC is offering an ExporTech session starting October 24th of this year in Wichita, Kansas. It is open to anyone that has a desire to have a documented, executable Exporting plan with the intent of stabilizing/level loading production orders due to seasonal peaks and valleys, and or growing the business.

It really is as simple as the commercial when you think about it.

A small investment in time and resources up front can literally save you having to restructure your company later. Take some time and find out how ExporTech literally has the power to keep your company from having to go through a major overhaul.
