What Are a PBA's Roles?
A PBA serves clients in five roles, with associated tasks and functions: coach; diagnostician; visionary/strategist; transformation planner; transformation manager.
- Coaching Role - A PBA works one-on-one to help a manufacturing CEO discover insights and take action to transform his or her company into a high performance enterprise leading to increased client satisfaction, lower transaction costs, and higher client impacts.
- Diagnostician Role - A PBA periodically assesses the client organization's condition, identifies problems that require immediate solution for survival, and discovers obstacles to long-term high performance.
- Visionary/Strategist Role - A PBA ensures that the client periodically under goes a strategic planning process. A PBA may take various roles in this process: facilitator, process manager, or decision-making participant.
- Transformation Planner Role - For a client committed to high performance, a PBA works with the CEO to develop a strategy and a process for long-term growth. While a CEO may commit only to a part of the plan, the PBA maintains a multi-year perspective of the entire transformation process.
- Transformation Manager Role - Based on the plan, the PBA assembles resources-inside and outside both the manufacturer and the Center-to transform the client into a high performance enterprise, oversees the process, monitors and evaluates progress, modifies the process and plan as needed, and communicates regularly with the client and the implementation team.
