Allegion will host its first-ever Olathe Operations Manufacturing Day celebration this year! As a Kansas distribution facility and light manufacturer, we employ more than 100 workers in the Olathe community. But, in the next decade, it’s predicted that there will be 3.4 million needed manufacturing jobs in the U.S. – and only 1.4 million of those are likely to be filled. That’s a huge gap – and presents a huge problem for the manufacturing industry. In partnership with the National Association of Manufacturers, the Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center and others, we’re joining a nation-wide effort as a leading local distribution center and manufacturer (whose people take pride in their work) to inspire the next generation of manufacturers in the Olathe area.
On Tuesday, October 17, we’ll examine what distributing and manufacturing mean for our community and students will get a first-hand look at how they can develop the skills needed to qualify for long-term careers in this secure and growing sector of the economy. This is an invitation-only event and space is limited; more invitations may be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
