Wood Manufacturing
MAMTC's Pittsburg Regional Office is unique in that it employs the MAMTC's only full time Wood Manufacturing Specialist. As an integral part of Pittsburg State University's Wood Technology program, MAMTC has established a complete CNC Advanced Wood Processing Lab at the university's Kansas Technology Center. Equipment includes a CNC Router, a CNC multipurpose Machining Center, a CNC Panel Saw, a computer controlled edge bander, and multiple material handling resources. MAMTC's Wood Manufacturing Specialist is available for consulting on a wide range of manufacturing issues including software and machine selection, training, wood product design, prototyping, product finishing, plant layout and machine demonstration. Our specialist is a highly trusted resource for producing short-run parts, prototype assemblies, and a variety of other wood related products for small and medium-sized wood manufacturers. Our specialty tooling and equipment has also been used to machine other materials including LexanŽ, CorianŽ, and a variety of composites used in special purpose applications. Plastics Manufacturing
MAMTC and its focus on plastics in manufacturing could not have found a better home than at Pittsburg State University. Long known for its expertise in plastics engineering technology, PSU's Kansas Technology Center includes a modern plastics lab with a full array of production equipment and testing instrumentation. MAMTC's Engineers, including a Plastics Engineering Technology Specialist, are skilled at a variety of plastics manufacturing processes including Injection molding, Rotational molding, Blow molding, and Thermoforming. MAMTC has also developed Computer Aided Design (CAD) expertise in plastic product and mold design and have the capabilities and resources at hand to produce short run parts for different plastics manufacturing applications. MAMTC also has access to the university's rapid prototyping technology, which allows parts to be made directly from three-dimensional CAD drawings.
