NIST MEP Reps Visit Kansas

By KMS on April 21, 2016

Earlier this week, two NIST MEP program officials traveled to Kansas to meet with some of MAMTC's board members, subrecepient partners and state Commerce officials.

Gary Thompson, Regional Manager for Kansas's MEP center, and Mark Troppe, Director of Partnerships and Program Development at NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership, joined Mark Chalfant, MAMTC Center Director, and Tiffany Stovall, MAMTC VP of Partnerships to tour Best Harvest Bakery in Kansas City, Kansas.  Providing a great tour was Best Harvest CEO, Ed Honesty.  Ed additionally serves on MAMTC's Board of Directors.

MAMTC's work at Best Harvest has primarily involved the company's need to develop, execute and maintain a sustainability program for their largest customer, McDonald's.  As a result of the work MAMTC performed at Best Harvest, the company has reported $10.5M in New and Retained Sales, almost $200K in Cost Savings to date, close to $400K in additional investments into their facility, and retained 60 jobs.

Thanks to Gary and Mark for coming to Kansas to meet many of our key stakeholders, and thanks to Ed and his team at Best Harvest for a great tour.
